Paulo do Nascimento Cabral was born in the Azores and holds a degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Lisbon. He has completed postgraduate studies in Diversity Management and Communities of Practice, Clinical Neuropsychology, and Psychological Coaching. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master’s degree in the Management of European Programmes and Funds. Paulo do Nascimento Cabral previously served as Head of Cabinet to His Excellency the President of the Regional Government of the Azores, and as Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the European Union, where he was responsible for dossiers related to the Azores and Energy. Paulo do Nascimento Cabral was elected Member of the European Parliament on 10 June 2024, and currently serves on the Committee on Fisheries (PECH), the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI), the Committee on Regional Development (REGI), and the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM). Paulo do Nascimento Cabral is also a member of the Delegations for Relations with the United States of America, with South Africa (where he serves as Vice-Chair), for relations with the Mediterranean, and for relations with the Mashreq countries. Paulo do Nascimento Cabral is one of the three Co-Chairs of the Intergroup on Cohesion Policy and Outermost Regions, and also serves as Vice-Chair of the Intergroup on Seas, Rivers, Islands and Coastal Areas (SEArica).
